One sweater at a time, our new merino is helping to combat climate change.
We introduced responsible wool, a new kind of merino, in 2018, marking a significant move forward in our efforts to create a more holistic and open supply chain. Now I'm eager to launch regenerative wool, a fibre that goes even further by assisting in the restoration of Patagonia's grasslands.
We're collaborating with Argentine farmers who practise progressive animal protection and land management, enabling sheep to graze in natural patterns. Sheep, once seen as a threat, are now seen as an essential part of the solution to land degradation, as their grazing enhances soil quality and biodiversity. Grasslands are an important habitat that helps to extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We're fighting climate change one sweater at a time by working together to preserve this ecosystem.
We assume that doing less damage is no longer sufficient. We want to create clothing that actually improves things. That means collaborating with those who share our values, such as other brands, suppliers, and consumers. We approached our responsible and regenerative wool projects in the same way, collaborating with Textile Exchange and now you.
We are grateful that you are a part of our journey; without you, we would not be able to carry out this vital task. Click here for more information on sustainable and regenerative wool.
